Environmental Literacy Learning in “America’s Best Idea”: U.S. National Parks
June 21-23, 2016

Over 5,700 students learn real-world science in regional national parks. Students collect authentic data in areas such as water chemistry quality, biological indicator species, runoff and sediment in the water, invasive plant species, and pollution to lead them to become environmentally literate citizens.

You learn like no other training . . .

Outdoor activities, easily implemented classroom activities, free teaching  resources and curriculum, and field science await our partnering teachers

  • High School teachers from Charles County Schools
  • June 21-23 2016 at different national parks; 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
  • Maryland teachers may earn 1 MSDE credit upon completion
  • Stipend earned upon completion of institute, and participation in a BTW field study by December 1, 2016 (stipends will be issued December 2016)

Your students . . .

  • Perform field science in national parks for free (no charge for program)
  • Experience natural and cultural treasures in their area
  • Prepare themselves with pre-activities and follow through with post-activities

    metropolitan area (MD/DC/VA).
  • July 12‐14, 2016 at different national parks; 9:30 a.m. ‐ 4:00 p.m.
  • Maryland teachers may earn 1 MSDE credits upon completion
  • $300 stipend earned upon completion of institute, assignments, project, and participation in a BTW field study by December 1, 2016 (stipends issued
    December 2016)
