The Native Garden

In 2008, Fergie’s Gardeners received a grant through National Capital Area Garden Clubs’ Civic Development Grant Program to establish a native garden. Principal Financial Group provided funding for the grant. The native garden is located along the NE side path of the house gardens. The planting includes coral bells, foam flower, fern, lungwort, redbud, and winterberry.

Wreath Making

During winter holidays, Fergie’s Gardener’s meet for a wreath making party and dinner. Proceeds from the sale of wreaths support improvements and maintenance to the hilltop gardens.

Flower Arranging

Alice LL. Ferguson was fond of bringing flowers from her garden into her home. Today, staff at the Foundation carry on her tradition. Their flower arrangements grace the home during the seasons and often end up as gifts for others. Flower arranging is annual topic at garden club meetings.

The Main Gate

Refreshing the main gate to the Alice Ferguson Foundation has turned into a perennial project.
