Do you want to make a difference for the environment and help ensure we all have clean drinking water? We welcome you to join us Sat April 5, 9 am–12 pm, for the 37th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup and Open House hosted by the Alice Ferguson Foundation located in Accokeek, MD, just 30 min from downtown DC.

You’ll be helping to clean up trash along our gorgeous Potomac riverbanks – the longest freshwater Living Shoreline in America.

Event Schedule

9 AM – 11 AM: Cleanup trash along the Living Shoreline and boardwalk at Piscataway Park. Tractor rides to shoreline begin at 8:30 AM
11 AM – 12 PM: Explore our environmental campus through interactive education programs, meeting the farm animals, and adventuring through the wetlands

For the big day, we’ll provide you with bags and gloves, and you can clean up the shoreline trash for as long as you’re comfortable. The data from the trash you clean up will help make the case for better environmental protection legislation!

We look forward to seeing you on April 5 – thank you for caring about the environment and the Potomac!

PS Students are eligible to earn SSL hours for their participation!
