WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
The National Gardening Association is proud to announce the 3rd year of the Muhammad Ali Peace Center Peace Garden Grant sponsored program by Yum! Brands Foundation. In an effort to help all schools sow the seeds of respect, the Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden is designed to help schools teach lessons of peace and hunger awareness through garden activities.
To be eligible for the 2013 Muhammad Ali Center Peace Garden, your school or organization must plan to garden in 2013 with at least 15 children between the ages of 3 and 18. Schools within the United States must have a student body eligible for 50% or more reduced or free lunches. This is a global initiative; all International countries and territories are eligible to apply. The selection of winners is based on the demonstrated relationship between the garden program and peace studies, and nutrition and hunger issues.
50 Award packages are available. 2013 award winners will receive a gardening package valued over $500 including:
- $400 in gardening supplies
- $100 for soil amendments and plants
Due Date: Applications must be submitted by January 2nd, 2013. Winner will receive an email and be announced on www.kidsgardening.org on March 7th, 2013.
