These particular Bridging the Watershed (BTW) workshops are only for teachers of Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS). There are two different levels of training:BTW 101 and BTW 201.
BTW 101: This workshop is designed only for PGCPS teachers unfamiliar with BTW and NPS and have not done a BTW field study. The focus will be on the mechanics of the program and familiarization of the parks. The highlighted module of the workshop will be lighter and truncated.
BTW 201: This workshop is designed only for PGCPS teachers who have attended a BTW workshop in the recent past. Teachers attending this workshop must have done a BTW field study within the past two school years. The focus will be on delving deeper into the knowledge base of a module’s content. There is little focus on programmatic mechanics.
Registration: To register, PGCPS teachers will use the ERO or call James Roberson at the Schmidt Center 301-888-1185.
What to Bring: We will be inside and outside for a portion of the day. Bring the following to the workshop: layered clothing based upon the weather, packed lunch and water (preferably trash free), note-taking material (optional), or other items for your comfort level (i.e. insect repellent, sunglasses, etc.).
