Captain Planet Foundation Seeks Applications for K-12 Environment-Based Projects

Deadline: January 31, 2014

The Captain Planet Foundation is accepting applications from K-12 schools for environment-based education projects to be implemented in the spring and summer of 2014.

Seed grants of up to $500 will be awarded for high-quality educational programs that enable children and youth to understand and appreciate the world through learning experiences that engage them in active, hands-on projects to improve the environment in their schools and communities. Grants are intended to serve as a catalyst to getting environment-based education into schools and to help youth and communities participate in environmental stewardship activities.

Grants are generally awarded to U.S.-based schools with an annual operating budget of less than $3 million. To be eligible, schools or sponsoring agencies must be recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

See the Captain Planet Foundation Web site for eligibility and application guidelines.
