Eligibility: Washington, DC Educators
Date: February 14
Location: North Michigan Park, 1333 Emerson St, NE, Washington, DC
This Workshop is intended for teaching K- 8. Project Learning Tree curriculum resources help educators teach complex environmental issues. They can be integrated into lesson plans for all grades and subject areas to help students learn how to make sound choices about the environment. PLT’s educational materials are designed to meet the common components of national education reform by using the constructivist approach to learning, whole language teaching, cooperative learning, inquiry-based teaching, service-learning, and authentic assessments. Materials are also correlated to state standards of learning. Participants will receive the PLT Prek-8 Environmental Education Guide, a certificate of participation, and ideas and techniques to use the Project Learning Tree Guide with your students in and outside of the classroom.
The workshop is being hosted by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation’s Environment and the Great Outdoors (EaGO) division.
Space is limited, but there needs to be a minimum of 15 registrants by Feb 8.
