Do you wonder if it’s safe for kids and pets to play in the stream near your house? Would you like to help test the water and make sure the information gets to people who can clean it up? Save Our Streams is a fun and easy way to test water quality by collecting and identifying underwater insects.

The Lois Green – Sligo Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America is sponsoring a Save Our Streams (SOS) Workshop on the Chapter property at 8721 Snouffer School Road, Gaithersburg, MD. The workshop will be on Saturday, October 26th, start at 9:00 a.m. and conclude by 4:00 p.m. Classroom training in the Chapter meeting room will be followed by field training in a nearby stream.

The cost of the workshop is $25; reservations are on a first come first served basis! Please visit to register. The workshop can accommodate up to 30 adults (high school students with National IWLA permission). Please be prepared to bring your own lunch – drinks will be provided.
