Eligibility: students in grades 6-8

Join us for a week of exploring the local watersheds of Washington, DC. Learn about the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and how we impact it, and how we can protect it. We will have a canoe trip on the Anacostia River; do water testing; and sample life in the local rivers. On the last day of camp, we will help work on restoration of a wetland by planting new wetland plants. Program includes all materials, transportation, canoe trip and boat trip. There is no cost to the participant.
Camp Sessions are: June24-28; July 8-12; July 22-26; and August 5-9
- Presently attend a Washington DC Public, Public Charter School, or Private School
- Be currently enrolled in, or entering grades 6-8 in September 2013
- Be interested in biology, environmental science or general science
- Be covered by health insurance
