There are many ways a school can be a part of the annual Potomac Cleanup!
The Trash Free Schools Program combines hands-on learning with student-led action projects around waste reduction, litter prevention and trash cleanup. Examples include: a school-wide waste audit, adoption of a community litter can, and posting the Litter Prevention Campaign.

A Schoolyard Cleanup is an excellent tool to engage students in service learning. Conducting this event in conjunction with the Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup can be a powerful way to involve your school on a larger scale, and can help enforce lessons learned by students.
