Using equipment and supplies appropriately and safely, and returning all items to their proper location. 4. Remaining flexible and open to direction and feedback from AFF staff. 5. Performing designated tasks to the best of my abilities. 6. Communicating and acting with respect in my interactions with other volunteers and staff. As Alice Ferguson Foundation Staff, We will uphold these values by: 1. Treating you, the volunteer, as an equal partner with staff, jointly responsible for advancement of the mission and programs of the Alice Ferguson Foundation. 2. Providing adequate information, training and supervision before and during your volunteer shift 3. Maintaining a commitment to continuous quality improvement, including receiving your feedback on ways we can work together to further the mission of Alice Ferguson Foundation. 4. Providing all new volunteers with an orientation regarding the scope of AFFs work. 5. Remaining flexible and open to your needs as a volunteer. 6. Maintaining open lines of communication by keeping volunteer opportunities updated, promptly responding to emails and phone calls, and providing direction and feedback as necessary. Volunteer Code Agreement I have reviewed and understand the Alice Ferguson Foundation Volunteer Code. I understand that if I do not uphold the aforementioned values during my volunteer shift, Alice Ferguson Foundation may ask that I not return as a volunteer. Thank you for working as a volunteer to help Alice Ferguson Foundation, Inc. fulfill its mission. In order to comply with our internal policies and insurance requirements we ask you to sign the following form releasing Alice Ferguson Foundation from all liability while you are working with Alice Ferguson Foundation. This form is in effect for one (1) year from the signing date below. 1. WAIVER AND RELEASE: I, the Volunteer, release Alice Ferguson Foundation from and waive liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind, either in law or in equity, which arise from the services the Volunteer provides to Alice Ferguson Foundation. Volunteer understands that this Release discharges Alice Ferguson Foundation from any liability or claim that Volunteer may have against Alice Ferguson Foundation with respect to injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from the services the Volunteer provides to Alice Ferguson Foundation, including from activities that may be hazardous to Volunteer such as operation of machinery, use of farm or farmhouse instruments, use of cleaning products, operation of a motor vehicle, and other work involving inherently dangerous activities. 2. NO RIGHT TO COVERAGE FROM ALICE FERGUSON FOUNDATION: Further Volunteer understands that Alice Ferguson Foundation does not assume any obligation to provide the Volunteer with compensation or any other financial assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability assistance, benefits or insurance in the event of Volunteer’s injury, illness or death or damage to Volunteer’s property. Volunteer expressly waives any such claim for compensation or liability on the part of Alice Ferguson Foundation. Each Volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his/her own medical or health insurance coverage. 3. PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE: Volunteer grants to Alice Ferguson Foundation all rights in any photographs, images, video, or audio recordings of Volunteer or his/her likeness or voice made by Alice Ferguson Foundation in connection with Volunteer’s provision of volunteer services to Alice Ferguson Foundation. 4. GOVERNED BY DC LAW/ENFORCEMENT: As Volunteer, I expressly agree that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Maryland and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland. I agree that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release is deemed invalid, the enforceability of the remaining provisions of this Release shall not be affected. 5. PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN: If the Volunteer is under 18 years old, the term “Volunteer” in this Volunteer Release and Waiver shall include the Parent or Legal Guardian, as applicable, of the Volunteer.
